Abstract

552,570. Bedsteads; brackets. FORD, J. W. Oct. 10, 1941, No. 13060. [Classes 52 (i), 52 (ii), 52 (iii) and 52 (v)] A bedstead is carried clear of the floor exclusively by brackets, slidable on vertical guides, attachable to the head end of the bed. The guides 7 may be secured to a wall or standard and brackets 6 thereon are adapted to be secured, through resilient connections if desired, to the head of the bed frame 4, suitable gear with handwheel 9 being provided to raise or lower the bed. Castors 10, 11 on swivel legs may be provided for moving the bed when detached from the brackets 6. A table with a top pivoted so as to enable a mirror secured to its underside to be positioned operationally may be provided together with side extensions 12 and a cupboard 15. The guides 7 may be placed in a cabinet 16 having compartments 17 - - 20 for a heating panel, medicines, charts and clothes. A band 14 is provided for retaining the bed clothes in position.
