Abstract

18,514. Davison, A. C. Aug. 12. Hand pumps; valves, arrangement of. - A lubricating-pump piston 22 is operated by a handle 23, and slides on a squared part of a valve stem 25, so that by turning the handle 23 the valve 26 can be rotated to bring its port 27 into register with inlet and outlet ports in the base 30. The inlet port. is connected to a reservoir from which oil is drawn into the pump when the piston is raised. On the down-stroke of the piston, oil is forced through the outlet port 28 and discharge pipe 31 to a pipe 3, terminating at a high level within the reservoir 1.
