18,016. Cowlishaw, J. H. Sept. 18,1911, [Convention date]. Handles. - Folding boxes with handles are made from a blank shown in Fig. 5. The box is held in erected position by passing slots 28 in flaps 27 carried by the ends 22 over pairs of lugs 16 on the half-lids 17. In order to permit this, locking- lugs 14 formed integral with handle members 12 are turned to one side on scores 30. The parts 29 of the flaps 27 are received io slots 15. One of the handle members may be provided with a reinforcing - flap 31, Fig. 7, which is passed through the opening 13 of the other member to form a convenient gripping - surface. The slots may be provided with a metallic reinforcement 32, Fig. 9, and the ends 22<a> with the slotted flaps 27<a> may be carried by one of the sides 19<a>.
