Abstract

Screw propellers for aerial and marine vessels, of the kind in which the main part of each blade has a supplementary forward part of less pitch, are provided with an improved contour. The main blade a joins the other part b along a line which proceeds in a straight line from a point above the centre of the boss when the blade is horizontal and then curves tangentially rearwards. The leading edge of the part b has a similar shape. The pitch of the part b is 33 per cent of the pitch of the main blade, the pitch of the latter varying from root to tip.
