Packeting by wrapping-up.-Relates to machines for wrapping flat articles, such as chocolate tablets in two or more wrappers by two folding-mechanisms. The articles and tin-foil &c. wrapper u<1>, Fig. 1, are brought together between fingers 1, 2 which carry them down past folders 33 to the level of the table 29, the two sides being folded up in the process. A slide 36 turns over one top fold, and a slide 34 then feeds the partially-wrapped article to the right, a roller 37 making the second top fold. The projecting ends of the wrapper are operated on by bars 32, Fig. 9, and by a vertically reciprocating frame 45, Figs. 1 and 9, to produce the folds shown in Fig. 17. In this condition, the packet arrives over a finger 3, Fig. 1, and an outer label or wrapper u<2>, preferably of rhombic form, is superposed. Fingers 3, 4 carry the packet to a folding-device B, which folds down the four flaps of the wrapper u<2> as shown in Fig. 18. Lateral slides fold up the flaps m<1>, m<2> and a plate 41, Fig. 1, folds up the flap m<3>. A slide 42 now feeds the packet to the right, the last flap being folded up in the process. Adhesive is previously applied to the wrapper to cause adhesion when the wrapping is complete.
