Fire-tubes, arrangements of superheating- tubes in.-In superheaters having their elements disposed in some of the fire-tubes of the boiler, each element is so formed that the length of pipe disposed in the fire-box end of the firetube is much greater than the length in the smoke-box end. Fig. 2 shows the arrangement. The element consists of relatively long pipes 10, 11 which extend along the fire-tube from the header to within a short distance of the fire-box, and of a series of bends 12, 15 disposed in that portion of the fire-tube in which the gases have a relatively high temperature.
