Abstract
13,034. Hess, W. June 6, 1911, [Convention date]. Stereoscopic apparatus.-Means are described for producing a composite positive from a pair of stereoscopic negatives, and also for viewing the positive. Over the sensitive surface on which the positive is to be printed is placed a celluloid plate k having its upper surface formed of a number of part-cylinders c as shown in Fig. 2. In printing from the right-eye negative, light is allowed to come only in a definite direction f, and in printing from the left-eye negative, light coming in the direction f<1> is used. The result is that the two positives consist of a series of strips 1, 3, 5, Fig. 4, forming the right-eye picture between which are the strips 2, 4, 6 forming the left-eye picture. The composite positive thus produced is viewed through a similar strip k. The strip k may be coloured in order to absorb rays reflected within it.
