Boat-launching apparatus. - The boat X is suspended from trollies N, connected by linkwork n<1>, and running on a wire ropeway M extending between a boom Q and a drum S which with its support T can be run outboard when desired. The speed of the boat in descent is checked by a rope o paid out from the ship and a pivoted-davit V carries the rope M from inboard to a position slightly outboard, in which position the supporting-tackle for the rope is released. The boom Q is hinged at q<2> to fold up against the side of the ship when not in use.
