4353. Destrez, L. A. March 11, 1911, [Convention date]. Coating processes. - A machine for covering fabrics or flat belts with powdered cork or other material comprises an endless band 2, Fig. 1, which feeds the fabric under a vessel 3, from which an adhesive flows, and under a fan-shaped nozzle 6 connected to a vessel 7 containing the cork or other powder. The nozzle is in communication with a compressed-air reservoir 10 and acts in the manner of an injector to project the powder, this being facilitated by compressed air entering the vessel 7 at the top. A brush 11<1> wipes off excess powder. When round belts or electric conductors or cables are to be covered, the nozzle consists of a ring 11, Fig. 4, through which the belt or cable 14 is passed, and which is provided with a slit 13 on its inner surface.
