Abstract

Appts for the application of powders, partic. electrostatically, on plane surfaces, esp. continuously advancing strips, of the known type provided with projection nozzles connected to a high tension source and to a powder feed, is modified so that the powder feeder consists of >=1 vessel contg. a fluidised bed of powder maintained at constant level and arranged horizontally close to the surface to be coated, delivery outlets being provided along the vessel in the centre of the powder bed on a line parallel to the level of the bed and at intervals selected in accordance with the deposition characteristics of the projection nozzles while each delivery outlet comprises a Venturi-type injector connected to a compressed air feed as well as to a pipe connecting its outlet to the projection nozzles.
