Abstract
4727. Favary, E. Feb. 24. Compound fabrics.- Endless compound fabrics for belts are produced by weaving a length of hose of large diameter having undeflected threads 5, Fig. 2, arranged circumferentially and covered and, if desired, separated by protecting and binding threads. Twice the required width is separated from the hose, and the severed edges 3 are doubled over to meet one another as shown in dotted lines, the folded belt being rubbered or the parts being otherwise secured together. The undefiected threads 5 may be provided only for the width of the required belt, and portions 6, Fig. 3, of ordinary fabric folded over either from both sides, as shown, or from one side only. The separate threads may be covered with rubber or like solution, and the belts are preferably coated or covered with rubber or the like.
