Liquid-supply arrangements, non-automatic, for horizontal generating-chamber; drip-feed apparatus.-In an acetylene generator of the horizontal generating-chamber type, water passes from the tank l into an independent waterchamber c, and then through a tube d permanently connected to the end of the generating-chamber a and entering the inner perforated tube h of the carbide-holder g. The water passes to the carbide through perforations in the tube d, and by these arrangements the necessity for the use of a washer between the carbide-holder, and the end of the generating- chamber is avoided. The chamber c is closed by a screwed plug f to which is attached a rod e which enters the tube d, forming a limited passage for the supply of water.
