Abstract

Instantaneous or flash generators. - In a flash generator, a number of vertically coiled tubes c are arranged around a central chamber d, their lower ends being connected to the bottom of the chamber, and their upper ends to the feedpipe f. The feed-pipe opens into a feed-distributing box e, from which the feed flows into the tubes, the flow, if desired, being controlled by a rotary disk valve. A baffle h may be fitted in the central chamber to throw the water spray carried by the steam to the bottom of the chamber. Steam is taken off through a pipe n at the top of the chamber.
