Abstract

1726. Spreti, S. Graf von. Jan. 22. Telescopic handles ; grip, f a c i l i t a t i n g.- Relates to a telescopic spade handle of the type in which the parts are retained in their extended position by screwing together. The inner telescoping part 6 carries at its lower end a metal fitting 8 provided with screw-threads 9 engaging threads 5 on the upper end of the steel barrel 2 when extended. It is locked in either end position by a pin 11 mounted on the spring 10 secured to the barrel, and adapted to engage a recess 12 or 13. The barrel may be covered with a leather sheath 3 for protecting the hands and improving the grip. The lower end of the barrel 2 is fixed to the spade-blade.
