Manure distributors.-In a machine for distributing manure, the hopper is provided with an internal reciprocating plate, a discharge regulator, and a delivery apparatus consisting of an external endless chain having fingers adapted to sweep over a ledge or shelf in the hopper. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the reciprocating plate e is vertical and is placed at the rear of the hopper a. It is reciprocated horizontally and may be provided with projecting fingers. The regulator f is movable vertically to adjust the discharge outlet g. The fingers c<1> carried by the chain c or its equivalent are inclined forward and sweep along a transverse shelf or ledge b. The chain is driven by vertical, horizontal, or inclined sprockets d. In a modification, the fingers c' are cranked downwards, and an inclined reciprocating plate is mounted in front of them. The chain c may be provided with jaws c<2> engaging a guide h, or it may be supported by a ledge or shelf extending between the sprocket-wheels d. According to the Provisional Specification, straight or inclined fingers sweep over a ledge or shelf external to the hopper.
