Abstract
27,429. Smith, W. T. Dec. 7. Rollers.-In drawing-heads of machines for spinning short fibres and in which the top rollers are set in advance of the bottom rollers, the rollers are set close together and comprise two small fluted back rollers B, B', a bottom front roller A of larger diameter than the roller B, and a rubbercovered top front roller A' of smaller diameter than the roller A. The rollers are of small diameter, and may be driven as described in Specification 11,967/11. Additional rollers C, C', the roller C being fluted and the roller C' being fluted or plain, may be employed, and the saddle on the top rollers is arranged so as to apply a heavier load to the front rollers so that the staple may be drawn by the rollers A, A' through the rollers B, B<1>.
