Abstract

27,358. Sparks, E. Dec. 6. Mantle supports ; mantles.-Relates to supports for flanged inverted mantles, of the kind in which the flange A is held on a ledge of the support by a ring C, there being no ring or the like projecting within the mantle. The support B is attached to a plate D on the burner by means of lugs, which are passed through recesses B' in the plate D and turned to rest on the plate. This may be fixed on the burner, or slotted so that it can be passed over lugs on the burper and turned to rest on them. The combustion products escape round the edge of the plate D. The Provisional Specification states also that the support may have an adjustable hook or other support to hold a loop or other attachment to the mantle; a ring or the like may be used to support an upright flanged mantle; and the flange on a mantle may be flat, angular, curved, or of other shape.
