Abstract

[Cognate Application, 16,710/11.] Incandescent gas burners ; mantles ; m a n t l e supports. -The mantles of upright or inverte d incandescent gas burners are supported by a rod b inside the mantle which can be raised or lowered by a screw c, or other device from the exterior of the burner, and the open end of the mantle rests on a ledge g which may he shaped as at g<1>, Fig. 5, or serrated or curved. The top of the rod b may be domeshaped or mushroom-shaped, and the lower end of the mantle may be shaped to correspond with the shape of the ledge g<1>. When applied to inverted incandescent mantles, a loop on the inside of the mantle is engaged by a hook b<1>, Fig. 3. The cap m may correspond in shape with the ledge g<1>.
