Abstract

23,586. Mills Equipment Co., and Wise, W. P. Oct. 25. Equipments of the type described in Specification 28,812/06 are constructed so that the backings A<1> of the cartridge-carriers A themselves form the ends of the belt. The backings are connected by a strap B adjustable between buckles D, which are mounted on straps sewn into the tubular or two-ply ends of the backings. The shoulder-straps are attached behind to the back strap, and in front to buckle slides H mounted on the backings of additional cartridge carriers A<2>. Both upper and lower sets of backings are stitched together. The weight of the knapsack J is supported by the shoulderstraps assisted by diagonal straps K attached both to the strap B and also to diagonal loops L on the upper backings. A bayonet frog E is suspended from an extension of the lower backing.
