SPECIFICATION forming part of Letters Patent No. 395,050, dated December 25, 1888.

Be it known that I, HARRIET N. GRAY, a citizen of the United States, residing at Austin, in the county of Travis and State of Texas,

have invented certain new and useful Improvements in Abdominal Supporters; and I do hereby declare the following to be a full, clear, and exact description of the invention, such as will enable others skilled in the art to which it appertains to make and use the same, reference being had to the accompanying drawings, and to letters or figures of reference marked thereon, which form a part of this specification.

abdomen being supported without any undue strain or pressure; and to this end the invention consists of the improved supporter hereinafter described and claimed.

l The elastic straps a a and E E taken together give all the play necessary to adapt the supporter to the changes of the figure due to i change of position. It can be worn without l any inconvenience, but with comfort and relief, as a uniform and equal support is given to the abdomen.

Buttoned to the front and rear of the waist-- 6o belt there are tabs F and G, respectively, to which are buttoned the elastic shoulder-straps I-I. consisting of the waist-belt, the abdominal sector-shaped pads hung from the waist-belt by elastic straps, the straps C, buttoned to the bolt behind and to the bottom of the abdominal pads in front, the side straps connecting the abdominal pads with the pieces 0 at the back, and the front strap connecting the two abdominal pads together with the shoulderstraps, all substantially as and for the purpose set forth.
