Abstract

19,286. Marks, E. C. R., [Iowa Motor Wheel Co.]. Aug. 29. Spring wheels with continuous outer rigid ring and pneumatic cushions. - Bulged side plates 1, 2, Fig. 1, secured to the sides of a rigid outer rim are guided between the sides of a wooden felloe 16 and spaced plates 22, 23 secured to lugs formed on a metal band 18 arranged on the interior of the felloe. The cushion consists of a pneumatic tube wider than the felloe. Recesses 34, Fig. 2, lined with metal plates 35 are formed in one side of the felloe. Slotted links 37 are pivoted in these recesses, and the slots engage pins 41 projecting from the plate 2.
