Overlap joints with longitudinal pressure and with yielding outer pipe.-The outer pipe a is of lead composition or the like, and is nipped against a tapered nipple f by means of a union nut g. The pipe a has an external flexible tubular sheath b, in the end of which a bush c is secured after the nut g has been placed in position. The bush has a projection which screws into the convolutions of the sheath, and has a flared or rounded outer end, between which and the conical nipple f, the tube a is nipped when the nut is screwed on to the nipple. The above-described joint is specially designed for use with acetylene lamps of motor vehicles and boats, or for pipes conveying petrol or lubricant.
