A packing-ring c is placed between the flange d and the end of the pipe e to which the tube b is to be connected, and is compressed by a union nut f. According to the Provisional Specification, the union nut is dispensed with, the bush screwing directly on to the pipe to which connexion is to be made. A packing-ring is then compressed against the other end of the bush by a lock nut.
