Overlap joints with slotted socket.-Relates to unions for connecting gas or other flexible tubes to fixtures &c. and of the type comprising a tubular connecting-piece a having longitudinal slits d which allow the connecting- piece to be compressed upon the flexible tube b by means of a tubular element e having a screwed tapering socket adapted to co-operate with threads on the piece a. According to the invention, the conecting-piece a is provided with an unslitted portion a<2> formed to receive a funnel-shaped member f for preventing the formation of kinks in the flexible tube b near its point of connexion. Preferably, the member f has a flare mouth at one end and a screw connexion with the part a<2> at the other end.
