Abstract
15,914. Pilkington, W. R. July 10. Sundials.-Relates to the type in which the shadow or sun ray is produced by two screens on a diametrical bar. The bar A carries side plates which shut out side-light from the two screens a, a<1>, and the dial consists of a fixed central disk B and a loose flush ring C which are mutually graduated at the circle of contact so that the reading of the hour and minute graduations on the ring C is corrected for the equation of time. The pointer D is adjustable relative to the screen-bar to suit a neighbouring longitude. The dial is carried by a mount which is adjustable for any latitude and is clamped to a pedestal.
