Abstract

Pencil and like holders; pencil-sharpeners.- A crayon or like holder provided with means for sharpening the point comprises an inner casing g, Fig. 2, in which the crayon is housed, and an outer casing a, Fig. 3, having a tapered end b provided with an inturned sharpening-edge c. The casing g contains a spring m adapted to press the crayon p against spring gripping-flaps h, and is furnished at the upper end with a knob i and ring k. The two casings are fastened together by a flanged sleeve d which passes over the ring k and has a slot e for engaging a pin f on the outer casing a. The inner casing, and, consequently, the crayon,' may be rotated by turning the ring k, and at the same time the crayon will be sharpened by the edge c and fed forward by the spring m.
