9519. Pittler Universal Rotary Machine Syndicate, [Internationale Rotations-Maschinen Ges.]. April 19. Motor power plant.-Variable-speed and reversing gear comprises two hydraulic motors adapted to be driven at variable relative speed and connected together by differential gearing. Fig. 1 shows a form of the apparatus. Two liquid-pressure motors g, g<1> are connected, one with a bevel-wheel c and the other with the bevel-wheel c' which are in gear with the driving-wheels h mounted in the gear-box k. The toothed wheel d for transmitting the resulting motion is mounted on the box k. The motors are preferably driven in such, a way that, for example, the one g runs always in the same direction at a constant speed, and the other is driven at a variable speed in the same, or in the opposite direction. Both motors g, g<1> may however be run at varying speeds. The two motors may also be driven by a rotary pump l, shown in Fig. 2, such as is described in Specification 12,159/10 [Class 110 (ii), Rotary engines &c.] ; the two sides of the pump work independently, but may be conjointly regulated with regard to their respective capacities by an axial adjustment of the piston drum. The gearbox may act on a lever i instead of operating a wheel. Specification 17,533/97 [Class 114, Ships &c., Dis. II.].
