5706. Halmay, J. April 23, 1910, [Convention date]. Stud-and-socket fastenings.-A stud member which is secured to one of the parts to be fastened is formed by stamping a T-shaped piece f out of a plate D. The socket comprises a plate A having a large aperture a with a constriction b into which the neck of the stud f is passed after inserting it through the large aperture. To retain the stud f in the constriction, a part B having a punched-up semicircular stud p is hinged to the plate A in such a manner that, when turned down, the stud p snaps into the larger aperture and secures the stud f.
