Abstract

5491. Planche, L. March 10, 1910, [Convention date]. Envelopes. - Relates to envelopes of the kind secured by a tongue on the body portion being inserted through openings in the closing-flap and the body portion respectively. According to the present invention, the openings through which the tongue is passed are located in front of one another, so that the tongue can be inserted by a single operation. To the body portion a of the envelope is attached a piece of cardboard 2 provided with a slot d and with a tongue c, while to the closing-flap b is secured a piece of cardboard 3 provided with a slot e. The envelope is secured by inserting the tongue c inwards through the slots d, e. The slot e may be replaced by an aperture of size sufficient to prevent the end of the tongue to be finally brought outside the envelope if desired. The portion 3 may project beyond the edge of the flap b and a tab g may be provided to facilitate insertion and withdrawal of the tongue. The Specification as open to inspection under . Section 91(3)(a) comprises also a construction in which the tongue projects upwards from the body portion, with which it may be integral, and, after passing through a slot in the closing- flap is passed through a slot in the body portion. This subject - matter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
