Abstract

Envelopes.-The closure for an envelope comprises a strap of paper or the like, attached to the envelope and adapted to be folded over the flap and to be secured in a slot or by a cross-bar on the envelope body or flap. As an alternative, the strap may be attached to the flap, and more than one strap may be used. Figs. 2 and 3 show an envelope secured by the strap 2, attached at 4 to the body A, which is bent at 6 and has its end 7 inserted through the slot 8. In Fig. 12 the strap 2 is shown secured to the flap 1, and passes under the cross-bar 13 and through the slot 8 therein. Fig. 16 shows a strap 2 having an additional bent-up part 7 which may be used to facilitate the removal of the strap from the slot 8.
