14,909. Griffin, W. H., Lathem, J. O., and Doddington, E. June 21. Envelopes. - A safety envelope is provided with side flaps 11, 12 carrying extensions 15, 16, and with a back flap 13 elongated to form a supplemental closing-flap 17 and provided with a tongue 21 adapted to pass through an aperture 19 in the flap 17. To make up the envelope for use, the back flap 13 and its prolongation 17 are secured to the side flaps 11, 12 and to the extensions 15, 16 respectively. The flap 17 is then folded down upon the back flap 13, and the tongue 21 passed through the aperture 19 and secured to the gummed flap 17. After the insertion of the contents, the sealing-flap 14, which is larger than the flap 17, is gummed down.
