Abstract
16,253. Coggan, F. July 31. No Patent granted (Sealing fee not paid). Envelopes.-An envelope blank is shaped as shown in Fig. 1. The side flaps c meet at their tips e and have extensions a, which are folded inside the envelope, leaving a space b through which the contents may be grasped to admit of postal examination. The side flaps are cut out at f, and portions are removed so as to leave an even surface d, when folded, for typewriting the address. The top flap is shaped as shown, marks being preferably impressed at j to facilitate the folding of the projections, so that the flap may enter the slit h in the bottom piece after this piece has been stuck down at the gummed parts g, g'. In the modification shown in Fig. 3, the bottom piece a is first brought over and the side flaps b are then stuck down, so as to leave a central passage through which the top flap can pass when folded.
