Abstract

148,459. Deutschmeister, A. June 21, 1916, [Convention date]. Envelopes.-An envelope in which provision is made for inspecting the contents without withdrawal is made from a blank shown in Fig. 1. The flap 16 on the back portion 11 lies inside the envelope when sealed by the gummed flaps 12, 13, 14 on the front portion, and serves to retain the contents. By pressing on the longitudinal edges of the closed envelope, the slot 15 is opened so that the contents may be inspected. If desired the flap 16 may be passed from the inside of the envelope through the slot 15 to hold the contents better in place. In the modification shown in Fig. 7, the slot 15 b is formed in the back 11, the gummed flap 12b being provided with extensions 12c to reinforce the ends of the slot. The slots 15, 15b may be made straight instead of in the form shown.
