Abstract

1,215,888. Envelopes. A. L. LANCASTER. 11 Aug., 1969 [9 Aug., 1968], No. 38155/68. Heading B6A. A wrapper or container comprises two portions adapted to be secured together by an adhesive to provide a seal which is infrangible during ordinary opening of the wrapper, i.e. the material of the wrapper has to be torn, the seal incorporating, or being associated with a substance which changes visibly if heat or solvent is applied to fraudently open the wrapper. As described, the substance is a non-stable and/or fugstine stain or ink mixed with an adhesive. Alternatively, the stain may be included in the material of the wrapper &c., or it may be in the form of a strip 7 alongside the adhesive 6. The wrapper may be in the form of a wages envelope, the notes protruding therefrom for inspection and folded over with the top part of the envelope, firstly along a diagonal 4 bounding the adhesive and then folding this triangular double portion in half along another crease 5.
