Abstract
508,864. Envelopes. WIDEGREN, K. A., and WIDEGREN, E. H. Jan. 6, 1938, No. 450. Convention date, Jan. 8, 1937. [Class 146 (ii)] A self-adhesive envelope of the type having an integral uncoated extension of the bottom flap 1 to prevent premature sealing, and narrow side flaps 2, has the end sections of the bottom flap and the closure flap 3 shaped to extend out to the side edges of the envelope, and the side edges of the remaining parts of these flaps are shaped to lie wholly or partly within the side edges of the envelope. As shown, the side edges 5 of the flap 1 are cut away to expose the side flaps 2, and the side edges 6 of the closure flap are cut away to expose the bottom flap. These cut-away portions allow the insertion of a knife &c. for opening the envelope, and enable all the flaps to be secured together by sealing- wax at the positions 14.
