Cooking-stoves; casings; joints; baffles; air, supplying fur combustion.-A gas or like cooking-stove comprising two ovens 33 and an apertured hot-plate 17 is heated by a central squaresection tube 31, which separates the ovens and leads into an enlarged space under the hotplate. A tube 31 and expansion space 35 of this kind, adapted for heating a hot-plate with five apertures, is shown in Fig. 9; the stove shown in Fig. 3 has, however, only three apertures. The stove casing consists of lagged plates connected by angle-irons on its edges. Each oven is formed by a plate 40, 42 bent at rightangles and flanged at 41, 43, as shown in Fig. 7, and by the plates constituting the sides of the tube 31 and the undersides 35 of the top flues, the tongues 48, Fig. 7, being passed into the apertures 44, Fig. 9, and bent over. The flange 39 is bolted to the inside of the stove casing, the same bolts 19 securing also the hotplate flanges 18 and the flange 57 of a cap 53 forming the uppersides of the top flues and apertured like the hot-plate. Baffles 66 distribute the gases rising from the burner 25. The gases pass down the flues 45 into the flues under the oven bottoms 40, and thence some pass through dampered apertures 51, 50 into and out of the ovens, and some pass into the space containing the burner 25. Dampered air-supply openings 62 and draught-controlling apertures 64 are fitted as shown. Air also enters by inlets 55, and by apertures 54 in a closure 53 for the bottom end of the tube 31. A griller 71, with air inlets 72, is provided. Doors give access to the ovens, and a door beneath the burner gives access both to the burner and the griller.
