Abstract

2579. Brayshaw, S. N. Feb. 1. [Addition to 4861/09.] Burners, arrangements of. - A salt-bath furnace for hardening tools &c. of the kind described in the parent Specification is heated by a burner comprising gas nipples c<2> projecting into two trumpet-mouthed mixing-tubes c<1>. Gas is supplied to the burner through a swivelling tube, and regulating-cocks in the main pipe and near the nipples are provided. Compressed air may be used in the burners, and in this case the trumpet-mouthed tubes are replaced by a mixer of the kind described in Specification 1117/10, [Class 71, Injectors &c.].
