8284. King, J., Burnett, J. R., and Richmond Gas Stove & Meter Co. April 6. Atmospheric gas and vapour burners.- A burner for toolhardening, forging, crucible, annealing, and like furnaces comprises a nozzle f admitting air under pressure, an inlet g for gas or like fuel at the rear of the mouth of the air nozzle, a burner tube preferably in two parts a, b, and a spiral d in the mixing-tube. The spiral d is held between the part b and an inclined surface a<2> in the part a, and the part b has preferably an inclined surface b<1>. Instead of or in addition to the inclined surfaces a<2>, b<1>, the interior of the burner may be roughened. The Provisional Specification states also that the invention may be applied to incandescent burners for lighting, and to ring or barrel burners with a series of orifices, the spiral being arranged in the barrel or mixing-tube.
