Abstract

652. Spiers, T. A., and Preston, E. E. Jan. 10. Circular machines.-Pattern wheels 1, of the type mounted obliquely and geared to the needles, and employed in place of a clearing- cam to produce designs in tuck stitches by raising some but not all of the needles to the clearing position, are provided with removable needle-lifting bits 4, by altering the position of which the design to be produced may be varied. The bits 4 are mounted in radial tricks 5 and secured by a retaining cover-plate 9 or equivalent means.
