Abstract

29,553. Barat, J. Dec. 20. Soaps, materials, processes, and apparatus fur making.-An emulsion of resin soap for sizing paper is prepared by forcing, as by a compressor 2, a mixture of water from a tank 10 and resin soap from a boiler 1 at high pressure through a throttle - valve 8 opening into a receiver 9, so that the mixture suddenly expands into the receiver. The resin soap is made in a boiler 1 provided with a strainer 3 to hold impurities, and with a funnel 11 to regulate the circulation of the liquid and reduce the formation of froth.
