The pulp, spread across the plates by centrifugal force, falls into a vat G the bottom of which comprises a number of segments H attached to the vat by rubber connexions K and reciprocated against the action of springs J in the usual way by a rod I. The vat has a conduit controlled by a sluice, and also wash-out valves.
