the zigzag-shaped sheets i passing-up into the drum d. From here it flows through the housing c and the regulator into the steam line leading to the cylinders of the machine. On the way through the metal sheets i, the water contained in the steam is deposited on the metal sheets, flows down into the container formed by the cuff-shaped flange e and collects here. The flange protrudes into this container so far that it dips into the water level and forms a liquid seal. As a result, the space labeled o in the drawing is closed off from the space labeled p.
This has the consequence that when the regulator is opened. the steam cannot pass through the openings m, the spaces o and p into the drum, but that it is forced to take the path indicated by the arrows through the water separator. The drum d is set in rotation by the pressure of the flowing steam exerted on the crooked surface. The water that collects in flange e is pushed outwards by centrifugal force and flows over the edge of flange e into space o and from there back through the pipe into the boiler. Since the same pressure prevails as in the boiler as a result of the openings m in space o and in pipe n, the overflowing water can flow back into the boiler unhindered.
The water level in the flange e assumes the position indicated by the dashed line. The lower edge of the flange f is designed so that it is still immersed in the water level even when the drum d is rotating at the fastest speed. This effectively prevents the steam from entering the space p through the openings m and the space o and from there into the Tronimel, which would be the case in the absence of the liquid seal, since there is less in space p due to suction Pressure than prevails in the boiler.
The water separator described allows various modifications without departing from the scope of the invention. For example, the actual water separator, instead of being upstream of the drum d, can also be built into the drum. For example, you can run the screw surface of the drum up to its upper edge and the

Edge of the drum are brought up so that the space p has no connection with the inside of the boiler. The water particles would then pass through the centrifugal force into the space p and collect in the flange c. Otherwise the effect would be the same as previously described.
It is also not necessary for the drum itself to be set in rotation by the flowing steam, but a mechanical drive by means of a belt drive or the like is also conceivable.
Furthermore, the flange f does not need to be firmly connected to the drum d. It can also be attached to the fixed housing /! be attached.
