Abstract

Optical-projection apparatus. - The slides a, Fig. 1, of a projecting- lantern are fitted in frames b linked together at their base corners, so as to form an endless chain with all the slides in the same plane. The chain so formed is supported by an angular carrier c, Fig. 1, a similar and adjustable plate engaging the lower part of the chain. The apparatus is operated by a continuously-running chain g, Fig. 2, passing over a loose sprocket f on the shaft d carrying the plate c. Disks c are secured to the shaft on either side of the sprocket, and pins i projecting from the sides of the chain engage lugs h on the disks e, and give the carrier-plate c an intermittent motion, so as to bring the next slide into position. To maintain the slide in correct position, rollers k on the carrier c engage a spring catch l. Mechanical slides may be used with this apparatus, the sprocket f being then mounted on a hollow shaft s, Fig. 4, and driving a toothed wheel q mounted between the plates forming the carrier c. The wheel q engages with gearing connected to the movable element of the slide.
