Abstract

22,534. Matthews, Ltd., T., and Matthews, R. L. Nov. 14. Converting rotary into reciprocating motion.- Chains B passing over chain-wheels &c. C carry a pin A provided with a roller engaging a slot in a cross-head I. The cross-head reciprocates on guides K in the frame J. The chains B are driven by chain-wheels E on a shaft F, or the wheels C or axles D supporting them are driven through gearing from the shaft F. The axles D are adjustable in the frame J for the purpose of altering the length of the cross-head stroke.
