102,582. Murray, H. June 6, 1916. Converting reciprocating i n t o rotary motion.- A reciprocat i n g frame 5 is provided with racks 7, 8, which alternately engage and drive a toothed sector 14 secured to a shaft 9, on which may be fixed a fly-wheel. The sector 14 is provided with side members 12, 13, between which is a passage 20, the sides of which are adapted to engage rollers or the like 23, 25 on the frame 5, as shown in Fig. 6, to assist the movement of the sector 14 at the ends of the stroke. The frame 5 may be reciprocated by rotating the shaft 9.
