Abstract

25,287. Fornaca, G. Aug. 31, 1909. Reversing; starting. - The shafts 6, 17 for actuating the pump distributing-valves and the cylinder air and fuel admission valves and also a compressed-air valve for starting, are adjusted for reversing by simultaneously imparting to them independent angular movements through a pair of oppositely-moving sleeves 15, 16 arranged as shown in Fig. 1. The compressed-air starting cam is mounted on the shaft 7 and is adjusted axially for starting in either direction by imparting an endlong movement to a central shaft 17, the inner sides of the cam swells being inclined so that the bowl may slide up them.
