Rolling annular bodies.-A hoop to be rolled is stretched between two wheels, one of which is driven and one of which is freely mounted, and is thus pulled through a train of idle rolls. The freely - mounted wheel c is traversed by a screw c<4> operated by a hand-wheel c<8>. When the hoop is rolled down to the desired size, the wheel carriage c<2> meets a stop x and further rolling causes the hoop to slip on the wheel c and thus stops the operation. One roll of each pair of idle rolls e<1>, d<1> is mounted eccentrically for adjustment of the pass. The Specification as open to inspection under Section 91 (3) (a) states also that the movements of the screw c' and the adjustment of the pass may be performed automatically. This subjectmatter does not appear in the Specification as accepted.
