Roller mills; cracking nuts.-Apparatus for cracking nuts consists of two or more revolving spindles 3, each carrying a series of removable cracking-rollers of ona or more patterns. The spindles are geared together by wheels 4, and one of them is driven by a pulley 5, or turned by hand. The spindles are adjustable, springs 6 being placed between the bearings 2 and plates 7 adjustable by set-screws 8. The surfaces of the rollers are preferably roughened, scored, or serrated. V, U, and other shaped rollers are shown.
