Abstract

10,112. Farr, A. J., [Peters, M., and Gruber, K.]. April 28. Rolling tubes; mandrels.-In a continuous tuberolling mill with a number of oval passes, the mandrel is connected to a draw-bench and is withdrawn as soon as the billet has left the first pair of rolls. The carriage d, to which the mandrel c is connected, carries a coupling-lever h, which is caused by a stop f to engage at the required point the chain g running in the opposite direction to the work. In addition to the chain g a second chain may be provided, so that the mandrel may move in the same direction but with less speed than the average speed of the work.
