Abstract

Checking shuttles and pickers. - Two buffers A, A<1> adapted to slide on the picking-spindle H are connected together by an adjustable strap or double cord B passing over adjustable guides C, C<1>. When either of the buffers is driven along the spindle by the picker, the other buffer is drawn along by the spindle, the changes in the obliquity of the ends of the cord &c. B with respect to the spindle H producing an increasing checking force on the picker. The buffers A, A<1> may be omitted, the ends of the cord or strap B being arranged to engage directly with the spindle H. Rollers may be mounted on the guides C, C<1> to reduce friction.
